Alessandro Armato Head of Department
After graduating in Philosophy and Letters from the Catholic University of Milan, Alessandro focused his career on art history and criticism, specializing in the Latin American context. He holds a Postgraduate degree in Literary and Art Criticism, a Master’s in Argentine and Latin American Art History from IDAES-UNSAM (Buenos Aires), and a PhD in History from the same institution. His doctoral research explored the artistic processes in Colombia between 1919 and 1965. Since 2017, he has led the Art Department at Bogotá Auctions, bringing invaluable academic and technical rigor to every auction.

Carla Sigismund Department Specialist
Trained in Art History at the Università degli Studi in Milan, Carla’s career in Colombia began in 1985 in Cartagena de Indias. There, she founded the Association of Antiquaries of Cartagena, playing a pivotal role in establishing the city's iconic "Antique Row." In 1991, she expanded her influence to Bogotá, becoming one of the most authoritative voices in the country’s antiques market. She specializes in both local and international furniture and collectibles. Since 2018, she has applied her extensive experience and expert eye to the Decorative Arts Department at Bogotá Auctions.

Timothée de Saint Albin Specialist and Founder
A Historian from the University of Paris I – Panthéon Sorbonne and an alumnus of the National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO) in Paris, Timothée settled in Bogotá in 2006. That same year, he founded Bolívar Old Prints, Colombia’s first antique shop specializing in cartography, antique prints, and travel books, significantly enriching major public collections such as that of the Luis Ángel Arango Library. His close ties with international auction houses inspired him to found Bogotá Auctions in 2014, introducing global quality standards to the Colombian market. He is an active member of AILA (Iberian Association of Antiquarian Booksellers).
