Our House

Bogotá Auctions was founded in 2014 as the first auction house in Colombia, and since then, we have been committed to the specialized and transparent sale of artworks and collectible objects in the secondary market. Our purpose is to constantly energize and expand the Colombian art market, giving it greater visibility both nationally and internationally.

As the first auction house in the country, our challenge and greatest achievement has been to build trust in the auction mechanism and promote transparency in the art market. That’s why our motto is “Professionalism - Experience - Transparency."

This experience, professionalism, and commitment have led us to develop a network of loyal collectors, both national and international, private and institutional, to whom we offer excellent support and service. This, along with the quality of our catalogs, provides the necessary guarantees for secure transactions and increases the chances of achieving prices that often exceed our commercial estimates.

Timothée De Saint Albin

Antique Books, Documents, and Maps

Holder of a postgraduate degree in History from Paris I – Panthéon Sorbonne University and a graduate of the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (INALCO) in Paris, Timothée de Saint Albin settled in Bogotá in 2006. That same year, he founded Bolívar Old Prints, the first Colombian antiquarian shop specialized in maps, antique prints, and travel literature. This initiative notably helped to foster the collecting of antique maps in the country and significantly enriched the collection of the Luis Ángel Arango Library. This experience also led him to work closely with international auction houses, which inspired him to create a Colombian auction house that meets international standards. Thus, in 2014, he founded Bogotá Auctions. He is a member of AILA (Iberian Association of Antiquarian Booksellers).
