Bogotá has its own auction house

The Bogotá Auctions project, conceived by a team of five experts led by Timothée de Saint-Albin and Benjamin Creutzfeldt, seeks to professionalize the Colombian art market through a consistent auction model. This initiative aims to serve as a catalyst for local collecting, with plans to host 10 to 15 annual events ranging from visual arts to wine and watches. To educate new buyers, the inaugural catalog provides pedagogical tools such as a glossary of technical terms and a guide to legal practices and bidding types. The first exhibition will allow the public to view pieces by national and international artists before official registration for the auction begins. This approach intends to complement the work of galleries and fill the historical void of formal auction houses in the country.
